Fundraising
We are fortunate in Clear Creek ISD that our local school board and school administrators believe in the importance of arts education and they provide us tremendous support; however they have been forced to make tough cuts to all extra-curricular programs – especially to fine arts. While our neighboring (and competing) districts have been increasing staff and funding for band over the past several years, we’ve had budget cuts of 5%-10% each year and are forced to compete with three fewer staff members. With the rising cost of instruments, music, transportation, and overall operating costs, our budget no longer covers our expenses. More than ever we are relying on fundraisers and increased fees to fund a quality program for quality students and to not fall behind our competitors.
Our fundraisers can be split into two main categories, the on-going fundraisers that have no end date and we can continue to earn money on all year long, and one-off fundraisers that take place over a specified period of time and have an end date.
