We have all survived the very first week of the 2019 Clear Springs Marching Band season! (Or as my senior daughter likes to remind me, “The last-first week of summer band.”) For freshman students and parents, this can be an overwhelming time. And for the rest of the band, there have been many changes this year so on behalf of the Booster Club and Band Directors, we THANK YOU for your patience!!

You all should have received a warm and welcoming email from our trusty leader: Band Booster Club President, Mrs. Tina Foy! If you did not receive the email sent out on Saturday, August 3, then chances are your information is not updated correctly on Charms. Before we move forward with any further information, please ensure you have completed items 1 and 2 below (#3 is optional):

1.) Subscribe to the Google Calendar!! **This is NOT the same calendar that is in Charms. This is a separate calendar.** On the home page (click on HOME above this post), there is a link to the calendar. Click on this link. You will not only be able to view the band calendars, but also receive instructions on how to sync your personal calendar to your respective band calendars. All band students should sync the “Main Calendar” and the calendar that pertains to their group (percussion, color guard, etc.)

2.) Sign in to Charms!! Also on the home page underneath the calendar link, there is a link to the Clear Springs Charger Band Charms Login page. Please know how to access your student’s account. This is where you will pay Band Dues, order meals for football games and competitions, access the store and pay for items from equipment night. In addition, you will be able to access various volunteer opportunities and sign up! (Cue the image of the “Uncle Sam-I Want You” poster here.) If you or your child cannot access Charms, please let a director know ASAP!

*3.) Join the Facebook group “Charger Band Parents” in addition to liking the “Clear Springs Charger Band” page. They are different! The Charger Band Parents group is for parents/guardians of our band students only. Here you can ask questions and discuss band happenings with other band parents. The Clear Springs Charger Band page is a public page. Anyone that is a fan of our amazing Charger Band can go on and like the page! Follow the band on Instagram @cshschargerband and Twitter @cshschargerband!

These “beginning-of-the-year” stressful feelings will be replaced with pride and awe when you see the band performing on the field for the first time.
